Two Touchet seniors will be heading to WSU Pullman next year and they will be aided with both GEAR UP preparation and GEAR UP financial assistance.  Jaci Hodnefield and Taryn Short were accepted in May to attend WSU fall classes and begin their college experience at the main Pullman campus. Jaci and Taryn are both members of the first GEAR UP senior class at Touchet and will carry with them the various campus visits and daily contact that were facilitated by the Touchet GEAR UP Staff Chris Long, Lacy Moyer, and J.B. Dorman. Taryn is attending WSU with the college of business in mind as she completes her orientation this July. Jaci has expressed interest in the nursing program that is offered in Pullman in the initial years of the program. Both Jaci and Taryn will not only represent GEARUP well in Pullman, but they will represent the type of student that only a partnership between parents, students, and early outreach can provide.
